Meet Cristhofer.
Cristhofer is the child I signed up to sponser (The kid I “adopted” and the reason why I began doing hair). Cristhofer is 9 years old. Cristhofer is a kind boy. He started school for the first time recently. He enjoys playing soccer, but is often alone because he is shy. He lives with his mother in a house made up of adobe. His house is very small and is covered with a tin roof. He shares a small metal bed with his mother. He has problems being sociable with the other kids in his village due to the feeling of being unwanted since his father left him and his mother. Water isn’t a promise in his home, and their monthly income is $70 (in US money). That may sound like a fair amount, but it’s not when that $70 doesn’t come every month. His mothers job is nowhere near stable.
That is who Cristhofer is now. Imagine who and what he could be. Look at the potential, not the poverty.

Finally decided to take that leap of faith after many years of debating if I could afford to support a child. Nancy is from Mexico is is absolutely precious! I can’t wait to get to know her and eventually go visit her!

Though I am heartbroken about Lilian, and though Reya could never replace Lilian, I am happy that I get to share the gift of sponsorship with another girl in need. But the glory goes to God, because He’s the one who made the yard sale a success, and He’s the one who has blessed me with the financial capability to sponsor this beautiful child in the first place.
This is Golda. She is my beautiful compassion child who I have sponsored for nearly 2 years. Compassion is a wonderful ministry that through sponsorships provides clothes, food, healthcare, education, bible study, and love to children who might not otherwise get it. When you sponsor a child you write them once a month or more than that. Tell them about your life, your family, prayer requests, your favorite color… anything really. I certainly do not deserve all the blessings God has been throwing my way lately. Just when I think that things cannot possibly get any better, they do! I got home today and saw a letter from my compassion child sitting on the counter. I snatched it up and eagerly opened it. When I did I immediately burst into tears. Inside was a picture of my beautiful Maame Aba. The sight of how much she’s grown in a year and how beautiful she is completely broke me. Then I read her letter and cried some more at how thankful she was, how she always remembers me in her prayers, and how she said she loves me. God has blessed me so much in allowing me to be a part of her life through compassion. Thank you God!
